Standardisation of KS2 Writing Teacher Assessment Judgements (STAKS2JUD190319) - 13.30PM - 15.30PM

Outline

This half day course will provide delegates with the opportunity work with KS2 moderators and Y6 teachers from other Lambeth schools to standardise their teacher assessment judgements and to agree next steps in writing for sample pupils in their class.

The course will support teachers’ confidence in making accurate TA judgements through;

  • unpicking the differences between the three writing standards and using this information to review a sample of their own teacher assessments.
  • clarifying the procedure for a assessing the writing of a pupil with a ‘particular weakness’ in one of the ‘Pupil can’ statements
  • standardising their assessment judgements with teachers from other schools.

Description

By the end of the course teachers’ assessment judgements will have been peer moderated in line with nationally agreed expectations. They will have discussed strategies for addressing the gaps identified in pupils’ learning

Delegates MUST bring evidence to support their teacher assessments of writing for sample pupils to this training. Further details about selecting the sample pupils and the assessment materials will be sent to the delegate nearer to the date of the session.
