Air pollution is a major environmental risk to health. It is estimated that nearly 9,500 deaths a year in London can be attributed to air pollution. Youths are among the most vulnerable to its effects, as their respiratory systems are still developing.
With this in mind, the Sustainability Team at Lambeth Council has established a grants scheme for secondary schools, colleges and universities in Lambeth.
Successful applications will be granted £2,500 to deliver air quality-related projects in their school(s).
Grants can be used to deliver one or multiple projects that promote sustainable travel, raise awareness of air pollution and/or promote greening.
Grants will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
The deadline to apply is 15 November 2019.
