SENCO Peer Support Tool

This tool has been developed for SENCOs by SENCOs to review their practice at the SEND Support phase. The development of this tool and its use between schools over time aims to support the view of a consistent approach to SEND Support across the borough. It is also a tool for supporting peer to peer discussion and the sharing of good practice.

 

We hope that you will find using this tool edifying and helpful in choosing your next focus for SEND Support development in your school. This new tool is intended to be used by pairs of SENCOs. However, it is a personal document and intended for helping the SENCO carry out quality CPD or their role in school and their SEND Support systems and processes. 

 

Some SENCOs in the pilot phase have linked using this tool to their whole school SEF and/or used it to report back about SEND systems to senior leadership teams and governing bodies.
