Would you be interested in accessing free workshops, work experience and careers/enterprise mentoring opportunities provided by local businesses?
The Brixton Pound runs a community investment project that links up Brixton businesses with schools and local groups to support activity through which business can give back to the local community.
Schools can access a wide range of activity facilitated by businesses:
- varied work experience opportunities. Key sectors on offer are food retail, cheffing, design, retail, and architecture.
- diverse workshops including: pizza/pasta/crepe-making; food product design; nutrition; branding & marketing; events catering; graphic/website design; restoring furniture and carpentry skills; audio engineering; setting up a small business & various elements of running a small business.
- careers mentoring and talks at assemblies, careers fairs etc.
We currently have an immediate opportunity for someone to take up a 4-week DJing and music production course in Feb or March. This would be ideal for secondary students who may or may not be studying music.
To take up this offer or discuss other opportunities (including activity not listed here - we welcome ideas for how businesses could help schools), please send an email toLucy Cava Project Manager, firstname.lastname@example.org or call on 07956 950 960.
